FHRI believes in partnerships and one of the main strengths of the organisation is cooperation with many like-minded partner organisations at the local, national and international levels. It is against this background that FHRI proudly continues to associate and strengthen collaboration with a number of partners at these levels both in the public and private sector. While FHRI has continued to work with Community Based Associations countrywide at the local level, it also has registered active membership to local networks like Human Rights Network-Uganda, Development Network of Indigenous and Voluntary Associations, East and Horn of Africa Human Rights Defenders Network, Legal Aid Service Providers Network among others. Existing partnerships with the Uganda Human Rights Commission, Uganda Law Reform Commission, Uganda Prison Service, Uganda Police Force, National Community Service Committee, Human Rights and Good Governance Program, Parliament of Uganda, Judiciary and Local Government continue to be consolidated on a “value addition” basis. At the international level FHRI is a key actor in the global campaign on the abolition of the death penalty, torture, impunity, penal reform and media freedom thereby strengthening joint action with traditional partners: Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, FIDH, Penal Reform International and the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty. The Foundation for Human Rights Initiative acknowledges with gratitude the continued cooperation and support from the various agencies and institutions as well as the state that make the implementation of FHRI programs possible. Special thanks also go to the victims of human rights abuses; communities and groups of people who seek our assistance for the confidence and trust in our services.
